Two good eye drops are Ciprofloxacin HC1 (Ciloxin(r), Alcon Laboratories, Inc., Fort Worth, Texas, 76134, U.S.A.) or a triple antibiotic such as Polymyxin B sulfate/neomycin sulfate/gramicidin ophthalmic solution (Bausch & Lomb Pharmaceuticas, Inc., Tampa,Florida, 33637, U.S.A.). In addition: 2) Tylosin tartrate [Tylan(r), Eli Lilly and Company, Indianapolis, IN, 46285*] in water at 1mg/ml (1/4 tsp per quart of water). To be effective, Tylan(r) must be the sole water source (drinking & bathing) for at least 21 days. 3) Birds are held for two weeks after completion of treatment.
